AI can now write code, so "being able to program" is no longer a unique advantage. That shift doesn't weaken engineers—it raises the bar. When everyone can generate scripts, the real edge is fundamentals: circuits, signals, systems, architecture, and the judgment to ask the right questions. In this talk I'll connect the AI wave to Taiwan's semiconductor story—from foundry rise to today's memory and advanced packaging race. We'll discuss how AI, memory bandwidth, and heterogeneous integration reshape products, careers, and competitiveness—and how students can turn disruption into lasting leverage.
