Innovation and Entrepreneurship: From Academic to Ventures
In Taiwan, Universities hold the most powers in innovation. However, in the past, there's no guidelines or success stories, or even regulations that allow the potentials to be fully exploited and explored.
In this presentation, we will talk about the process involving starting a new venture from innovation idea to running a fully functional startup. We will lay the ground work and illustrate the major differences in operations, objectives, mindsets between academic and commercial worlds. In addition, we will discuss and show an example to see how to pick the right research directions that will lead to disruptive innovative products and greatly increase the value of the venture.
